We went on vacation with our friends from the church Yekaterina and Leonid Kuzlevi. Leonid used to be our first branch president. His son is on a mission right now. His daughter Natasha went with them this year too. She has 2 kids. Dusya (full name Eudokiya - very old russian name) is 9 years old (she's is pretty sucsessful artinst) and Petya whi is 3 months older than Yeva.
Kuzlevi has a cabin on the Pavlovka water reservoir. They used to go camping there for a couple of years and then bought this very old little house / They go there for 2 weeks every year in july. I've been there with them before 6 and 8 years ago. It's a far away place with a very beautiful nature and not too many people around. This house is in a tiny village Sharlama. It doesn't have electricity and etc. They live there the way people lived thousand of years before. There are 4 families that live there. They all are related. 2 young families Vova+Elise and Yura+Elvira with 3 kids yeach (kids are under 7 years old) and 2 older families (Viktor+ Irina with a teenage boy and Nadezhda and Nikolay with a grown up son Dima. Vova and Yura are their sons too). Elvira and Elise are sisters from the other side of the reservoir. Elvra got married when she was 15 or 16 and she at the age of 20 she has got her 3rd baby who is 2 years old now. They all are very nice. They are hard working which make them ripped. Viktor and his family doesn't have a job. they live out of their garden and little farm. They have geese, chiken, couple of caws, bees. Nikolai is very sick. He got in a drunck fight and got bitten almost to death. He's getting his pentions. His wife is taking care of him. He got much better lately. He used to be a very good carpenter. His sons work with wood too. They build boats, houses, fourniture. It was such an interesting expirience to be there and to see people living differently. Their life is hard, especially in winters. It gets dark at 5 and light up pretty late. They don't have a well. They take water from a reservoir. They have an electrisity generator, but they need petrol for it. And it is hard to get it there. Sorry, for writing a lot about some unknown to you people but i simply was intrigued by the way they were living.
As I already mentioned we had another young mother with kids we stayed with. It was fun. Petya and Yeva get along prety well and had a lot of fun together. Petya established a habbit to go pooping an a little bushes not far away from the house and Dusya came up with a name for that--Kakatelnaya roscha, the poop grove. The kids teethed there and both had diarea because of gulping water while swimming, or berries - i don;t know. But one day Yeva win with 5:4 and next day Petya 3:1. Every time we saw them going to "roscha" we were morally getting ready for the prosedure of going to the river and washing their bottoms and underwear. The path from the house to the river was pretty hard for babies. Yeva fell down first or second day & scratched her face. But in 3 days they learned to get down there by themselves. When they were together they became fearless.
Kuzlevi had ther dog Nukra with them. It is an Alabai dog. 60kg. Yeva fell in love with it immidiately. She tried to hug it ang every time it barked got very excited and barked with it. It's a pitty we don't have a picture of Yeva hugging it cuz sizes are impressive.Yeva really liked all the animals there and was very excited to see them and wanted to follow them all the time.

It is very interesting to hear about. That dog in the picture looked enormous! I am surprised that she isn't a little nervous around dogs that big. Radek sure is, but he has never really liked dogs for some reason. He does much better with small animals.
This account of the river adventures would be terrifying to American mothers I think. Too much worry about babies getting in danger. It really is amazing to hear about how these families live. No wonder you were fascinated with it.
Celest, that is a big dog, and kind of old and not the world's brightest, so it'd kind of bowl through people all the time so we were on our toes the whole time. Yeva's really forgiving of animals, she can be bitten or clawed and a minute later she'll play again. The only thing that's creeped her out was a big angry snake I caught that Natasha was very afraid of, but the little one I caught a few days later she liked and even held.
